This is a good array of shots that show just how scary these fires have been:

Smoke Gets In Your Eyes
So for those of you who may have not seen the news, a large chunk of Southern California is on fire... again. This time it is north of the city about 20 miles (sorta up where I lived when I first moved out). The fire has destroyed 100's of homes and 1,000's of acres and is still ragin out of control. Even this far south there is a thick blue haze hanging over the city and it smells like everyone decided to grill out at the same time. My eyes are watering (even indoors), my car is covered in a fine layer of ash, and to make matters worse it's about 90 degrees out there today. You can feel the air/smoke pressing down on you when you go outside. Ick. I took Vala to the dog park this morning and you could see the smoke rolling in over the hills. It's very unsettling. Hopefully the winds will die down and the firefighters will get a handle on it soon.

A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse!
So I was talking to a friend of mine on the way in to work today (actually "whining" is probably a better description of what I was doing) and he asked me what was stressing me out so bad as to account for my current state of agitation... I almost had to laugh. Do you want the long list? or just the short one? Let's go with a shorter version and start with my head. I have a pounding headache that is threatening to turn into a migraine... and I'm out of my medication, with no hope of getting my perscription filled until at the very earliest tomorrow... I haven't had sex (or actually the desire to, which is disturbing on a whole 'nother level) in like six weeks and that makes me grumpy... and would actually probably solve my headache problem... which almost prompted me to make an impromtu (and wildly inappropriate) booty call to someone this AM.... what squashed the making of that call you might ask? How 'bout the fact that I managed to lock myself (and my dog) out of the apartment for the better part of the morning. (Pardon me for a moment while I bang my head against the wall.) Add to all of that my rather shakey financial state at the moment and there you have it. Lack of money + pounding headache + lack of sex = very frustrated, stressed out me :P
It's not that I don't have good things going on these days. I do... in fact I have some potentially life changing possibilities on the horizon... but the promise of amazing things to come is hard to focus on when the immediate craziness is threatening to consume me... Sigh... I need to go horseback riding. My soul needs that right now... or chocolate cake. Right now, my soul would be (briefly) appeased by chocolate cake...

So close...
So my current imdb goal is to break 100K... this week I got to 101,348. Definitely my best # yet (and a huge improvement over my 980,225 from last week). So the 615% jump was awesome, but that 100K mark is now so tantilizingly close as to be evil... hehehe... Oh well, hopefully next week :-)
Here's the link in case some of you may have lost the bookmarks I'm sure you have for it ;-)

My new favorite quote...
From "Slither" director, James Gunn:
"As commercial artists – whether we're actors, writers, directors, or whatever – we need to 100% fully immerse ourselves in a job, and yet 100% fully not give a shit. That's the paradox we face every day."
I'm finding out more and more exactly how true that statement is...

PG-Porn/Humanzee Photos
Thanks to James Gunn for the mention/link on his My Space blog this morning. Pics are from the photo shoot I did with him and Mikaela Hoover a couple of weeks back. Thanks also to my friends Wendy and Scott for letting us invade their house for the shoot :)

Back to the Future
So MySpace has been annoying me and Facebook has yet to come up with a good blog app, so here I am back on blogspot. I have been a bad blogger as of late, and have been using various reasons as excuses not to post, but I'll try to be better. I've got a lot going on in my life these days and TONS of things that have happened since last I posted here so I'll have to do a "catch up" post in the next few days... but for now, just suffice it to say I'm glad to be back. More soon. Promise :-)
